What is IHOT?

The International House of Technology (IHOT) robotics team was founded at The Atlanta International School in 2004, and has competed in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) every year since. FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, and it was founded by MIT's Woodie Flowers and Dean Kamen.

The IHOT team was founded with a goal of promoting STEAM learning through robotics, and to inspire high school students to pursue further study and/ or careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math related fields. Our mission is to promote STEAM learning through robotics, support the IB MYP and DP programs, and inspire high school students to pursue further study and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and related field. Through working in a socially and culturally diverse team alongside professional mentors, to solve complex problems in innovative ways. We achieve this through participation in the First Robotics Competition.

After making it to the world championship for the past three years, IHOT has proven that we have the determination and expertise to compete on a global scale. If you wish to donate, sponsor, or have any other inquiries regarding IHOT Robotics, please do not hesitate to contact us. After making it to the world championship for the past three years, IHOT has proven that we have the determination and expertise to compete on a global scale. However, with a growing team and a need for equipment, we need the funds to continue competing and impacting our community. Registration for district-level competitions is $5,000, excluding travel and meal expenses, not to mention every subsequent competition costs just as much.

Furthermore, we have additional construction and miscellaneous costs, such as machinery, raw materials, electronics, spirit wear, and much more. Also, we are looking to purchase more machinery— some of which can be upwards of 10,000 dollars—to support our future endeavors and to make the building process easier and the robots more advanced.
